My name is Mary - Thank you for your interest in the Scholz Studio!
I have been teaching voice, both private and classroom, since 2005. The Scholz Studio originated in and around Philadelphia, working with students from 7 to 65, and is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
With a BFA in Musical Theatre (The University of the Arts) and a background in original folk/rock music, my lessons combine classical vocal technique with storytelling, musical theatre and contemporary pop music.
I love having the opportunity to craft lessons around each individual singer's needs and learning styles. As a professional songwriter and touring musician, I am lucky enough to bring my experiences, both with technique and performing on stages of all kinds, to the table with each lesson,
My students have ranged from brand-new-beginner, to professional, and those who miss music and are choosing singing as a form of self care. (Not to mention piano, guitar, songwriting...)
